The 2012 American Documentary Film Festival
“Best of” Screening Series continues in October with I STAND CORRECTED.
The American Documentary Film Festival continues its “Best Of” Screening Series on Thursday, October 18th with a very special program built around the award-winning documentary I STAND CORRECTED. I STAND CORRECTED is the true story of jazz bass virtuoso, Jennifer Leitham, formerly known as John Leitham, who risked everything when she transitioned publicly during the height of her career in order to be her true self. The documentary explores the fears Leitham wrestled with as she rose through the ranks of the jazz world, and celebrates the joy she discovered after embracing her female identity.
In addition to the screening of I STAND CORRECTED, the evening will include a panel discussion entitled, “The myths and misunderstandings associated with being a Transgender person,” and after the screening, there will be a live performance by the Jennifer Leitham Trio.
Don’t miss I STAND CORRECTED – one of the many thought-provoking screen gems brought to you by The American Documentary Film Festival’s “Best Of” Screening Series.
