Stanley Kramer Film Festival
To Feature Spectacular Special Events.

Coming November 15, 2013 – November 17, 2013

Stanley Kramer Film Festival attendees will enjoy more than the opportunity to see some of Mr. Kramer’s best-loved and most provocative films on the big screen. They will also enjoy some special parties, spectacular entrances and surprise guests. All Access Pass holders will enjoy two great events, hosted by actress Karen Sharpe Kramer, Stanley Kramer’s widow, and his daughter, the actress and singer, Katharine “Kat” Kramer.

The first, an exclusive afternoon tea, will take place the afternoon of November 10, 2013, at a private home. The second, dubbed the “WILD & MAD” Kick-Off Party, will take place the evening of November 14th at the THE PIKUS HARLEY ARTIST HOME/STUDIO in Rancho Mirage, and will include discussions about the making of “The Wild One” and “It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World,” plus appearances by the Kramers, as well as several members of famous biker clubs and biker celebrities. And speaking of bikers and bikes, Karen Sharpe Kramer and Kat Kramer will be arriving with a cadre of million dollar motorcycles (courtesy of Lenny Meyer and Marine Sergeant Michael J. Templeton) for the Saturday afternoon screening of “The Wild One.” The motorcycle procession starts at 2pm, and is not to be missed.

Also not to be missed is the cake cutting on Friday evening, November 15th, celebrating Stanley Kramer’s Centennial year, followed by a grand entrance featuring a number of local vintage cars (driven by members of Palm Springs’ own Great Autos of Yesteryear Car Club), just before the screening of the classic film, “Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner.”

Saturday evening’s Fiftieth Anniversary screening of “It’s A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World,” a portion of which was filmed in and around Palm Springs, includes a spectacular surprise entrance, plus a very special awards presentation featuring the first annual Stanley Kramer Lifetime Achievement Award, and the first annual Stanley Kramer Emerging Artist Award, which will be given to two of America’s present day writer/directors.
