American Documentary Film Festival To Screen the Visually Stunning Documentary, Antarctica: A Year On Ice

American Documentary Film Festival To Screen the Visually Stunning Documentary, Antarctica: A Year On Ice

Experience an entire year with the people who work in the harshest conditions on Earth.  For the first time, we get a complete, unflinching look at everyday life on the mysterious frozen continent of Antarctica.

To create Antarctica: A Year on Ice, legendary photographer Anthony Powell spent 10 years (and nine long winters) clocking the continent on camera:  from the 24-hour darkness of winter to desolate, stunning polar vistas (blazing aurora, freezing ice storms) and the creatures and humans who are based there.  Time-lapse imagery — Powell’s speciality — evokes the ever-changing patterns of polar life.

A visually stunning feast for the eyes.
